The Suicidal Sheep Watch

Picture this.....

Friday night, the Graham's are out of town, I am getting in my car to go out, and then I remember, I am on animal duty for the weekend. I quickly make my way out to the shack to feed the sheep and the dog. Once I get out there, I see that on the other side of the fence on the sheep has its head stuck in the wire fencing. I went over there and she tried to pull her head out, but it just was not working. It sound like she was having a hard time breathing.
I have already walked through mud and animal droppings to get to her and I cannot push her head through. She starts to panic. I ran to the barn to find wire cutters. No luck. I tried calling the Graham's. No luck their either. I went to the garage, no wire cutters to be found. I ran into the house, up the stairs into my room, grabbed my scissors (yes paper-cutting scissors to try and cut wire....as my brother would say, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed) and proceeded to bonk my head on the way back down. Ouch!
Of course, the scissors would not cut the wire and the sheep was still in a panic. I went back to the garage to find some sort of cutting device, but nothing in there was what I helpful. I needed wire cutters! But I tried with what I had. I thought it would be good to calm the animal down, so I went around to get it some hay. To keep the other sheep from sticking their heads through the fence as well to get to the hay, (I mean it was dinner time after all) I went ahead and feed them.
The sheep suffocating sheep decided it wanted to be in shed with the others eating, so she pulled really hard and yanked her head right out of that fence! I was so mad. And had messed up hair. And mud on me. And my head hurt. And I was late.
Once I got to the car, and sat down, I remember the phrase "All we like sheep....". For the first time I understood what an insult that is! How frustrating it must be to be my shepherded!
The next night, the same sheep had its head through the fence again, trying to get some grass. This time, its head just popped right out, but I still thought "Dumb animal...."
I like taking care of the animals, especially if it means I am helping the Graham's out, but I will be glad when my suicidal sheep watch this time!
