“Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2
Don't think I've responded to any of your thoughts over the last few months but have enjoyed reading them and keeping up with your activities. I've been blessed reading about your work for the Lord, especially the friendships made with children. Also been amused by some of the "goofy" photos (or is that sophisticated Georgian behavior?!) and touched by many of your more serious comments. I have spent many minutes thinking about a quote you referred to (couldn't find it tonight so don't know the original source)that essentially mentioned God as the One who "knows tomorrow better than I remember yesterday." Quite a thought.
ReplyDeleteI was also impacted by your recent description of a funeral for a 4 year old girl and your descriptions about the (religous) culture of Mexico. We pray that in a world darkened by the thick shadows of sin and despair, the glorious light of salvation and hope will come shining through your words, your smile, your friendships.
Michigan misses your!
